Home renovation and modernisation
We have lived in Badgers Cottage (a small 2-bedroom end cottage) for 14 years and when first buying our house we knew it was a renovation project. But we took our time to plan and prepare exactly what was needed for our house to be modernised, damp free and warm.
We knew that the final renovation would mean we would have to move out of our house for a couple of months. This was due to the work impacting on every room of the house. Our main aim was to dampproof and insulate every room; but this meant that we needed to remove render and plaster and go back to brick throughout our property. This meant we could also plan for new windows, kitchen and renovate each room within our house.

When looking for a builder it was essential that they had a team who were experienced with working in old properties. We also needed a builder who would work closely with us so we could achieve our final
goals and also to a deadline to ensure we could move back into our home. Even though we have a small house, we knew that the nature of our project was quite intricate with lots of different things to
consider along the way. So we needed a builder who could coordinate all of the work including plumbing, electricians, plasterers, kitchen fitter, tiler etc.
We had seen work within our village on several houses that Chis had worked on. All of his previous customers were very happy with his work and gave glowing references. We had also seen the work and
felt this was to an excellent standard. We also got several quotes and felt happy that Chris’ quote was realistic, accurate and fair.
When we first started working with Chris, we had a contract and thoroughly discussed how the work would take place. We had regular communications throughout and Chris was always prepared to listen
and answer any questions. I really appreciated this open communication, as I have worked with other construction companies before who would shut down any discussions or always want to only speak to my husband. I very much respected how Chris worked with both of us and communicated throughout.
We are so so happy with the final finish of our renovation. It went very smoothly and was much less stressful than we thought. This was only because of Chris’ hard work and determination to ensure our
project met all of our requirements. I have already recommended Chris to several friends, and we will work with Chris again in the future. Not many people can say it was a pleasure to work with their
builder, but we really can! Thank you Chris for everything you have done for us.
